The CEO told us that Salinen Austria AG was already producing salt in the 15th century, but its dynamic development started in the second half of the 20the century. The state-owned firm was privatised in 1995, after Austria’s accession to the European Union. Salinen’s turnover was EUR 110 million last year. Half of the production goes to export and the company is present in eight countries, with products in both the B2C and the B2B market segments. Salinen’s market leader position is in part the result of their tailor-made services. They not only offer top-quality, clean products, but also make sure that supply is continuous and safe, relying on a modern logistics system. Paying special attention to customer relations is another key to the company’s success. Salt is essential for the human body and Mr Maix revealed that the WHO’s recommendation is that an adult’s average daily salt consumption should be 5 grams. 7001 salt has nearly 100-percent salt content and is characterised by a taste more intense than the usual. Its slogan perfectly tells what the 7001 brand is about: ‘PRIMAL SEA SALT from the untouched depths of the Alps.’ The product is available in kitchen-friendly packaging, with added iodine and in other enhanced versions, too.
