Magazine: Looks and content both matter when it comes to buying dessert

She told that the main driving force behind the growth were discount stores, especially the good performance of private label products. In terms of praline volume sales discounters outperformed hypermarkets. They also realised considerable market success with branded products so far not really known in Hungary – Polish and German desserts which are cheaper than established branded products. Hilda Helyes, marketing manager of Glatz Hungary Kft. – the distributor of Italian products Witor’s – added that the next big challenge would be preserving favourable product prices: ingredient prices are elevating all over the world, for instance Witor’s manufacturer reported a 91-percent increase in peanut prices, a 62-percent rise in cocoa butter prices and a 39-percent price growth of cocoa mass. This year Bonbonetti puts Amorella milk chocolate dessert with hazelnut on the market. They also keep on introducing Roshen desserts to the market. The strategic cooperation with the world’s 15th biggest confectionery company started in 2012. First Roshen products were made available in Bonbonetti’s own stores and the good consumer reception convinced the company to start distributing them more widely. They offer a really special three-layer (marzipan, sponge cake. fruit jam) dessert, truffle cream-filled Bitter Sweet, Korivka milk caramel, Konafetto wafers and Bonny Fruit coated jelly candy. Glatz Hungary started distributing Witor’s pralines in the 2013 Christmas season. Cooperating with the Italian partner turned out to be mutually beneficial. In the 2014 Christmas season Witor’s products – both standard and seasonal sweets – will be available in the stores of four retail chains. These products are characterised by stylish Italian packaging design, they are delicious and they don’t cost much. Standard products: mixed pralines, milk chocolate pralines and dark chocolate pralines in a box. From these the mixed box is the most popular. At Christmas special products appear on store shelves, these versions make a perfect gift thanks to their specially-folded or Champagne bottle lookalike packaging.
