Early October a Hungarian company, Cellum Zrt. launched a mobile wallet service in Thailand. DTAC is Thailand’s second biggest mobile service provider with 28 million subscribers. DTAC is owned by Telenor and the system was installed with help from Telenor-owned firm PaysBuy. Subscribers have to register their Visa or MasterCard cards and they can start paying with their smartphones. Users can scan the QR code or barcode printed on invoices and pay them with their phones.
